Alchemy Underwriting was founded in 2023 by seasoned London Market insurance experts Andrew Wallas, Richard Housley and Rupert Cousins. Tom Færøvik

Tom Færøvik is the Managing Director at Alchemy Underwriting Nordics AB. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Oslo and has held senior roles including General Manager Nordic Region at Vienna Insurance Group, Managing Director at Fusion Insurance Services Scandinavia, and executive leadership positions at Catlin, ACE and Marsh. Tom brings strategic and operational insight, driving Alchemy’s Nordic market growth.

Rafael Alins

Rafael Alins is Head of Property Underwriting. With extensive experience from Vienna Insurance Group, If P&C, Allianz, and Zurich, he brings years of expertise in industrial property, energy, and business interruption insurance. Rafael combines strategic insight with a practical, client-focused approach – delivering tailored insurance, reinsurance, and coinsurance solutions for complex corporate clients, with a strong commitment to long-term partnerships. Rafael holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Barcelona and a Master of Finance from Pompeu Fabra University.

Matias Godin

Matias Godin is Head of Engineering Underwriting. After more than 25 years in roles as an Engineering Underwriter at Vienna Insurance Group, Risk Manager at NCC Insurance, Risk Engineer at If P&C and early experience in the construction sector, he has accumulated deep technical expertise for engineering risks. Recognized for his analytical approach, clear communication and pragmatic leadership, Matias is dedicated to delivering robust and effective insurance solutions for complex engineering projects. Matias holds a Master of Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Christian Müller

Christian Müller is our Swedish Branch Manager and a D&O and PI underwriting specialist. He has previously served in similar roles at various international insurance companies, and has over 25 years of expertise in respect of Nordic insurance distribution and leadership. Christian holds a Master of Laws from Stockholm University.

Trond Haugen
